A Gamela is a traditional skiff used for fishing in the shallow coastal waters of the Rias (Estuaries) of Galicia and are perfectly suited for this environment. They are ubuquitous to the region and are of wooden construction and are powered by oars although nowadays they are also fitted with outboard motors.
